Welcome to Berkeley Pop Warner Cheerleading.  This information is designed to provide an understanding of our cheer program as well as what is expected and required at each of these levels.

FLAG 

  Our beginning level, flag is comprised of children in Kindergarten and first grade.  They are taught the basics of cheerleading in a fun and constructive environment.

  Flag practices are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:00 - 7:30 pm during the month of August.  In September and October, there will be one night of practice and one game per week.

  Cheer Parents for Flag are responsible to purchase the following items:  

                                    Any white athletic sneaker           

                                    White ankle socks

                                    cheer briefs

For cooler weather, a WHITE turtleneck and WHITE sweatpants ONLY ~ no other colors will be accepted on game days.

MITEY-MITE

  At our Mitey-Mite level, usually second and third graders, the cheerleaders will continue with what they learned at the Flag level while adding a bit more difficulty, including, learning basic stunts to begin to prepare them for the competition teams.

  Mitey-Mite practices Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6:00-7:30 pm during the month of August.  In September and October, there will be two nights of practice and one game per week.

Cheer Parents for Mitey Mite are responsible to purchase the following:

                                     1 pair of Converse cheer sneakers -$50.00 each

                                     White ankle socks

                                     cheer briefs

                                    WHITE turtleneck and WHITE sweatpants for  

                                     cooler games.

JR. PEE WEE, PEE WEE, AND MIDGET

   These are our competition squads.  These squads practice five nights a week from 6:00-8:00 pm in the month of August.  In September, October, and November there will be 3 practices per week and one game per week.  Each of these squads will participate in a least 2 competitions.

Cheer Parents for Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, and Midget are responsible to purchase the following:

                                     2 pair of Converse cheer sneakers -$50.00 each

                                    cheer briefs                              

                                   WHITE turtleneck and WHITE sweatpants for  

                                     cooler games.

                                    Competition hair bow          

                                    Cheer curls

One pair of sneakers must be worn to ALL games and practices; the second pair is for the COMPETITION ONLY

Cheer Parents of cheerleaders NOT participating in competition are responsible to purchase the following:

                                    1 pair of Converse cheer sneakers

                                    White ankle socks

                                    cheer briefs          

                                    WHITE turtleneck and WHITE sweatpants for

                                    cooler weather.

Cheer sneakers will be ordered and paid for the first week of practice.  The price of the sneakers includes your competition socks.

Competition hair bows and cheer curls will be purchased later in August and September.
